Diverse Women in Law: WSU Showcase

The Diverse Women in Law (DWL) team will be running an showcase in partnership with the Western Sydney Law Students’ Association at WSU on 25 September 2019.

DWL is a Sydney-based group that aims to work directly with women from diverse backgrounds in the legal sector. The organisation aims to address the chronic under-representation of diverse women in the legal sector as well as foster and support diverse women entering, thriving and progressing through the ranks of legal practice.

Following the organisation’s launch this year, The DWL team is planning on running a number of programs, including a targeted mentoring program, networking events and presentations on university campuses. DWL is also in the process of surveying students with a view to publishing a resource that explores the barriers and challenges faced by diverse women entering the legal profession.

DWL aims to empower a diverse range of individuals who identify as women and from an underrepresented group, including cultural and linguistic diversity, migrant, indigenous and refugee backgrounds, LGBTQI +, with a disability and who are experiencing or have experienced socioeconomic disadvantage.

Students of any gender, background or degree are welcome to join us from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in PS- EB.2.02 (The Academy Room).

We look forward to seeing you there!
