Truth telling panel discussion

ACE (Arts & Cultural Exchange) invites you to a powerful Truth Telling Session between The National Committee of the Friends of Myall Creek (Myall Creek Committee) and Dharug Knowledge Holders in Western Sydney that will explore and commemorate the Myall Creek Massacre of 1838.

Occasioned by the Myall Creek Committee’s inclusion in the 23rd Biennale of Sydney, rīvus and sponsored by Cultural Perspectives Group, the discussion will traverse both the Myall Creek Massacre and Frontier Wars in the Parramatta area, as well as current local efforts and collective action to preserve and recognise these histories. As part of rīvus, ACE’s Truth Telling Panel is an acknowledgment of the histories of colonial conflict that have taken place around waterways and creeks in Australia, as well as a platform for the First Nation’s voices who have brought about real change through their ongoing work and activism.

Session will include a light lunch.
