HOW COULD YOU SAY NO TO OUR NOVEMBER SLAM?

West Side Poetry Slam is an open mic night where you can sign up on the night and perform/read an original piece of writing to open minds, hearts, and arms. Random audience members score just for the fun of it and you could win a support feature slot at the next slam. Other performance art forms are also welcome. Anything can be poetry.

Feature Act – Pola Fanous

Pola Fanous is a Christian Poet, Artist and Educator who has performed and taught Australia-wide. An Egyptian-born immigrant, he has spent the last 7 years utilising Spoken Word to reach and teach and serve. Pola has performed at the Sydney Opera House, The Parliament House of Australia and is the 2018 NSW Poetry Slam Champion. Support feature – Judith Zhu

Judith Zhu is a 19 year old student studying Arts & Science at UNSW. She is existentially lost and confused on how to navigate through life between two cultures as an Australian Born Chinese. Her poetry consists of the experiences within her life and the raw sensations of feeling.
