Through coursework – study hard!

In some industries, grades are really important and they can be used to decide whether organizations consider your application. If your dream job requires high grades, then it’s important to make studying a priority so you can get your foot in the door.

Demonstrate curiosity – learn something different!

Employers are starting to choose graduates who demonstrate flexibility and take initiative to learn new skills (even if they aren’t part of your course). You can explore a range of disciplines at WSU both in and out of the classroom.

Show off your skills –  represent the uni!

The uni offers a range of opportunities to become an official representative including student leadership roles, overseas travel (when COVID-19 is over of course) and sports tournaments. You can elevate your impact by becoming an ambassador or documenting the experience and sharing it with other students

Help out the university –  gain new perspectives!

A fantastic way to build skills is taking on a volunteer or paid role at WSU. Engaging with the university on a number of levels will help develop empathy, communication skills and will make you a tactful leader.

There are just some of the ways you can show employers you’re a seriously great candidate. Which methods are you already using?
