After the release of her newest album ‘Bug’ at the end of May, Australian singer songwriter Lottie McLeod toured the nation with LoveLoveLove from the 10th to the 26th of July 2025.

You can read about ‘Bug’ here.

‘LoveBug’ was “Unreal” says McLeod

After she supported LoveLoveLove last year, performing with them at Bigsound 2024, McLeod enjoyed the ‘epic opportunity to dip [her] toes in to touring, to be with friends while learning the ropes’.

She speaks highly of South African born singer songwriter Denis Janse from LoveLoveLove, grateful to him for leading the charge.

‘Being with my friends and learning about touring life with them was my favourite part…’ she said. She added that having people drive 4 hours to see her show was surreal.

She admits the most nerve-wracking part is the uncertainty regarding ticket sales:
‘But you have to put that to the side and just remember if there’s five people in the room, they chose to see you, that’s what it’s about’.

‘Bug’: The “Diary Entry EP”

McLeod said music is how she processes her life, providing her a way to connect to people and reflect on the world around her.

‘Basically, I just wanted a collection of songs that felt like a snapshot of my life in this moment’, McLeod said of Bug.
‘It’s lyrics that are reflective of the last couple of years of my life… I am proud of making something that was exactly who I was in those moments’.

Her current favourite song to play live is ‘Ruin a Good Thing’, the crowd’s response making it extra fun. She also has a surprising favourite from the album, ‘How Disappointing’.

McLeod says choosing a favourite lyric from the album is a bit like picking a favourite child’, as she reflects on one from ‘The Line’;

‘I can’t get to you, I’m stuck at my end. You make your bed and you settle in my head. I’ve been pouring my heart out lately, straight into your cup now baby. You know just how to cross the line’.

What’s Next?

‘I miss the banter and just meeting new people’, McLeod spoke about the tour. ‘But thankfully I’ll get to do it again soon so don’t have to miss it for too long!’

She has an upcoming support Tour with Peach Fuzz, bringing her back to Sydney and Melbourne, and she’ll play at Brisbane’s Valley Fiesta in October 2025. Valley Fiesta is a goal for McLeod, who feels grateful for the opportunity:

‘…that’s something lots of artists I look up to have done so I feel really lucky to be able to do that also’

In addition, she is excited to jump back into writing for a few months so she can get her next project underway.
